Sherwood Dental Care has deep roots in Baton Rouge, originally founded by Dr. Steven Collins’ father and now proudly led by Dr. Collins and his wife, Lauren. Together, they continue the tradition of offering exceptional, personalized dental care. At Sherwood Dental Care, Dr. Collins takes the time to personally diagnose and treat every patient, ensuring a tailored and consistent approach to your care. Unlike corporate chains, our family-owned clinic treats every patient like family, from the youngest to the oldest, with warmth, care, and efficiency in our conveniently located office.
Active Community Involvement
At Sherwood Dental Care, our dedication to serving the Baton Rouge community is at the heart of everything we do, extending far beyond the walls of our clinic. We are actively involved in local health initiatives to make dental care accessible to all, regardless of financial background. One of the ways we contribute is through our partnership with the “Dental Lifeline Network” (Donate Dental), where our team volunteers to provide essential dental care to individuals who might not otherwise be able to afford it. We believe that everyone deserves a healthy smile and access to high-quality dental care, no matter their circumstances. This commitment to service reflects our deep-rooted values and our gratitude for the community that has supported us for so many years.
In addition to our involvement with the Dental Lifeline Network, we are proud to participate in the 10/31 Consortium’s Costume Drive. This wonderful initiative has provided over 5,000 children across Greater Baton Rouge with free Halloween costumes, valued at $247,725, bringing joy and inclusion to countless families. We’re thrilled to be a part of this cause and to ensure that every child can experience the magic of Halloween. Dr. Steven Collins, Jr.
Dentist, DDS
Dr. Steven Collins, Jr. combines a deep passion for dentistry with a commitment to continuous learning, ensuring each patient receives the highest quality care. When you sit in his chair, you can expect attentive, personalized service, clear explanations of each procedure, and thorough answers to all your questions.
Dr. Collins earned his degrees in Microbiology and Dental Surgery from Louisiana State University, where he was also a proud member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Golden Key honor societies. He is an active participant in the Greater Baton Rouge Dental Association, Louisiana Dental Association, American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry, staying at the forefront of dental advancements.
